Cooking on an Open Fire

The makings of patty melts......after the peppers and onions were sauteed, and the burgers were cooked to perfection, I grilled swirl rye bread and melted montery jack cheese to build some really tasty sammies. On the side: fresh cherries from the farmer's market.

Fetching Water

Todd loaded the barrel (originally from Greece and used to import hot peppers) into the trailer and fetched water.

Mexican Dinner

Complimentary starters at "Su Casa" Mexican restaurant in Fenville,MI. We immediately identified the pico de gallo, but were surprised to fins the carrots pickled and spicy and the green dish to be a cool lime cilantro mixture:)

Mooseturds

Yes, you read that correctly! Lookl closely and you'll see that this is an item on the menu at the Ruby Creek Bar and Grill. I think we will give a go on the next visit. So far, we know that the wet burrito is excellent!

Trip to Ruby Creek

Tahitian Treat pop was a blast from the past after a long ATV ride to the mom n pop store, Ruby Creek. It wasn't so sweet when I got a flat tire when we were nearly back home.

Taco Meat on the open fire

Todd constructed this grate out of rebar. It measures 18"x24". It was welded at every joint with a MIG welder.

Nothing is quite so relaxing or rewarding after a long day than a campfire with someone you love and a crazy dog :)
